Overview

To begin using the Strike API, you must first have a Strike account. Individuals using Strike for their personal use can create a Strike account directly within the Strike mobile app. However, if you intend to use the Strike API or any other Strike services in association with a business or organization, you must sign up for a business account. Follow the steps below to create your account.

Individuals​

To create a Strike account as an individual, ensure you are in a supported region and follow these steps:

  1. Download the Strike app: Find the Strike app and download onto your iOS or Android device.
  2. Sign up: Create your personal account.
  3. Verify your identity: Follow the in-app prompts to provide the necessary personal details to complete the process.

Businesses​

To create a Strike business account for your business or organization, ensure your business is established in a supported region and follow these steps:

  1. Start business onboarding: Visit the Strike Dashboard and select “Sign up as a Business”.
  2. Verify your email: Enter the email you will use for login and verify this email via confirmation code.
  3. Create a username: Choose a username for peer-to-peer and Lightning address transactions.
  4. Select your country: Both your country and state must be in a supported region.
  5. Proceed with verification: Provide details to complete the verification process.

The business verification process includes:

  • Providing basic business information (e.g. name, address, EIN, incorporation details)
  • Uploading necessary documents (e.g. tax or banking documents, relevant licenses)
  • Verifying the identities of owners and operators, which will be done by sending separate emails to each individual and requires name, address, and government-issued photo ID
  • Describing your intended use case for using the Strike API (if applicable)

Once the information for your business, owners, and operators have been verified, your Business account will be approved and you will be able to deposit cash, buy bitcoin, and make transactions.

Accessing your Strike account​

Once you have completed the signup process, both individuals and businesses can access their account via the web-based Strike Dashboard or the Strike mobile app. The Strike Dashboard is where you can create and manage your API Keys.
